Pankow Construction, a long-time friend and photography client, recently hired me to rebuild their website. As tends to happen, their existing WordPress site was outdated and had some pretty major issues. For instance, they couldn’t add, remove or change any content due to a couple of old plugins and a deprecated theme.
Happy with their overall existing website design – the primary goal of this project was just to address the major issues and make a few improvements to some of the functionality throughout the site. However, with an unrepairable theme and several deprecated plugins, our best option was to rebuild the site from scratch.
One of the client’s goals was to improve their website gallery so that it could be used to quickly show customers relevant work on a tablet during initial consultations. To meet this need, I built a custom portfolio plugin that allows the client to upload images, rearrange them and tag them with products used, project style, location, etc.
